Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis

2008 mixed media
What is sad for women of my generation is that they weren't supposed to work if they had families. What were they going to do when the children are grown - watch the raindrops coming down the windowpane?

- Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis (1929-1994)

Having a family, a child, a home – is work – a full-time job.

When Luis and I start a family, we plan to incorporate my art – my sculpture – my writing – my painting with our child. I cannot imagine just being “a mom” – that would not be fair to our child, to my husband...or to myself.

I was born an artist. I need to create, to think, to dream – art is my soul’s work and what shall make me better parent one day...
