another world - a dream

The jewel-encrusted cave led her to an enormous drape of flowing water. Behind the luminescent waterfall curtain she discovered another world...a world where butterflies spoke and angels painted...a dream where the ocean sang and the moon danced...

celebrate sacred innocence

A child is born pure and full of wonder.  We need not rush this sacred innocence.  Let the children play with mother earth.  Join in their celebration of life.  Sing, dance, laugh and be silly and wild.  Let us access our inner child and heal the planet one breath at a time...

Isis

"I am Isis, mistress of the whole land...I am she who separated the heaven from the earth. I have instructed mankind in the mysteries...I have ordered the course of the sun and the moon. I am queen of the rivers and winds and sea...I have made justice more powerful than silver and gold. I have caused truth to be considered beautiful. I am she who is called the Goddess of women..."

mothers to a new world

"Women must remember the sacred nature of our Goddess self, the call to glory inherent in human incarnation.  We are daughters of history and mothers to a new world.  This is not the time to throw away our power.  It is time to claim it, in the name of love."
- Marianne Williamson

courage to create

"To create one's world in any of the arts takes courage."

- Georgia O'Keeffe (1887 – 1986)

Are you living a life of courage?

Are you living a life you are creating?

Too many times I see women living the lives of others...for others...
...for their parents
...for their husbands
...for their children...

barefoot

heavenly grass
"My feet took a walk in heavenly grass.
All day while the sky shone clear as glass.
My feet took a walk in heavenly grass,
All night while the lonesome stars rolled past.
Then my feet come down to walk on earth,
And my mother cried when she give me birth.
Now my feet walk far and my feet walk fast,
But they still got an itch for heavenly grass.
But they still got an itch for heavenly grass."

- Tennessee Williams (1911 - 1983)

when was the last time you walked barefoot on grass?

an ideal time

She gathered her rose petals and decided Spring was an ideal time to take a vacation from the world. She would go to the sea and stroll pink sands at sunrise and sunset...

vital moment

"Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital. It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed.

Love the moment, and the energy of that moment will spread beyond all boundaries."
- Corita Kent (1918 – 1986)

love the moment...
RIGHT NOW...THIS MOMENT...
breathe this moment in and just love it, be grateful for it...

celebrating dreams

"Choose to be in close proximity to people who are empowering, who appeal to your sense of connection to intention, who see the greatness in you, who feel connected to God, and who live a life that gives evidence that Spirit has found celebration through them."
- Dr. Wayne Dyer

surrender to intuition

I am often asked to describe and explain how I create - process, techniques, materials, equipment.  Pieces are birthed from meditations and dreams.  I surrender to intuition...

spring

"It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
- Mark Twain (1835-1910)

moving with rhythms of nature

As the music started, the sun began to blush while the wind continued to breathe. One by one, they slowly emerged from the depths of the earth. Moving with rhythms of nature, the goddesses created a sacred circle and danced in beauty and dreams.

let guilt go

"Why should we grieve that we've been sleeping?
It doesn't matter how long we've been unconscious.

We're groggy, but let the guilt go.
Feel the motions of tenderness
around you, the buoyancy." ~ RUMI

Queen of Sheba

"Wisdom is sweeter than honey, brings more joy than wine, illumines more than the sun, is more precious than jewels. She causes the ears to hear and the heart to comprehend. I love her like a mother, and she embraces me as her own child. I will follow her footprints and she will not cast me away."
- Makeda, Queen of Sheba (ca. 960/1000 B.C.)

dream

She looked up at me with her turquoise eyes and smiled,

CREATE what is in your HEART...

WRITING will set you APART...

FLY...FLY...

and the goddess disappeared.

secret knowledge

"In the ancient way of being, the earth not only creates, feels, and protects life, but like a mother, whispers through natural signs and images the secret knowledge of how body, mind, emotions and spirit work upon each other in an intricate, invisible weaving."

- Johanna Lambert from "Wise Women of the Dreamtime"

Who are the wise women in your life? When do you seek their counsel? The wise women speak to me through dreams and symbols. There are no coincidences...I am being guided, moment by moment.

for all of the phenomenal women

"Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
the swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
what they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
the need for my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me."

soul silence

"See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence...we need silence to be able to touch souls. "

- Mother Teresa of Calcutta

beauty & poetry

"We especially need imagination in science. It is not all mathematics, nor all logic, but it is somewhat beauty and poetry."

- Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952)
She was the first woman in Italy to receive a medical degree, and worked in the fields of psychiatry, education and anthropology.

A child’s education and development is not all math or logic...I too believe in balancing science with poetry...
