Triệu Thị Trinh

2008 mixed media
My wish is to ride the tempest, tame the waves, kill the sharks. I will not resign myself to the usual lot of women who bow their heads and become concubines.

- Triệu Thị Trinh (c. 225 - 248 A.D.)
The Warrior Peasant rode the blue elephant goddess and began to amass her army of women with the battle cry of:
WOMEN, BOW YOUR HEADS NO MORE!

A sentence that may eventually become one of my stories...
